What paperwork do I need to ship a car to Hawaii or to ship a car from Hawaii?
When a vehicle is shipped from the mainland to Hawaii, no documents are required.
When a vehicle is shipped from Hawaii to the mainland, the owner of the vehicle must provide the following documents:
If your vehicle is financed or a lease
When you drop your vehicle off you must have a letter from the lien holder releasing the vehicle for shipment to the mainland on official letterhead from the lien holder and this must be notarized. Note: All notarized letters are only valid for 30 days from the notarized stamped date.
If your vehicle is owned out right
A copy of the title and current registration must be with the vehicle for it to ship. The owner listed on the title of the vehicle must be the the person shipping the vehicle, and they will be required to show a photo ID and proof of ownership.
If there are two owners listed on the title
Both of the vehicle owners must be present with a photo ID or notarized consent from the owner who who will not be present.

Can I ship personal items in my vehicle?
You may NOT have anything in the vehicle that part of the vehicle. We have seen so many vehicles get held up at the port because of items in the vehicle. The best practice is to take anything out of the vehicle that didn’t com with it when you bought it. This is for liability reasons, and please note that the port will conduct a thorough inspection of your vehicle before it ships and remove any personal items before it is loaded. If there are any personal items that can’t be removed, your vehicle will be rejected by port authorities. The only items that may remain in your vehicle are a spare tire, jack, jumper cables, and INSTALLED child safety seats.

Does my vehicle get exposed to the elements?
The ports vehicle storage areas are not covered and your car will be exposed. While your car is on the ship it will be down in the hull and protected from the elements. If we are picking your vehicle up from your location and taking it to the port for you then depending on the type of truck(open/enclosed) you choose will determine wether or not your vehicle will be exposed to the elements.

What will I need to pick up my vehicle from the port in Hawaii?
All you’ll need to pick up your car, truck or motorcycle is the Matson booking number, which will be provided by a your AAT representative after booking, once we have scheduled your shipment with the port.

What is the First Available Shipping Date?
This is the date your vehicle is ready for us to pick up, but keep in mind that this is not necessarily the exact pick up date. Depending on truck driver availability at that time, we may be able to assign a truck to pick up your vehicle on your first available shipping date but it may also be a couple days after. If we cannot pick it up that day, it should be within our usual pick up window of 1 to 3 business days starting from the first available date.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SHIP MY VEHICLE?
Understanding the amount of time it takes to deliver your vehicle after pickup.Here are some examples of delivery times, these times are estimated and should not be considered as guaranteed.

How will I know the pick up date and time of my vehicle?
After a truck has been scheduled, we will email you a notification with the estimated pick up date along with the driver’s phone number. The truck driver usually calls a 24 hours ahead of pick up or delivery to notify you of his estimated arrival time at your address. Special arrangements can be made upon request. Our rates are based on vehicles with no modifications from the standard factory condition and will need to have an additional premium cost added to the the price.
